Sessions

What to expect:

A Rolfing® session is always specifically tailored to the client's needs and strategically focuses on specific regions of the body. A typical session begins with a conversation about daily activities, movement patterns, body history and the client's intentions for the session. Next, the Rolfer® will assess the client's posture and movement. The Rolfer will then work to balance the client's body by releasing restrictions and changing patterns. The session will end with another body assessment. Throughout the session, the Rolfer will ask for the client's active participation and typically uses a very wide range of techniques, pressures and educational tools.

Is it painful?

Rolfing has had a reputation of being painful; however, this is an outdated technique. Research and decades of practice show that a non-painful approach is more effective. A pressure that is intense but pleasurable tends to be most effective, yet a surprising amount of change can occur with a light touch. I will always communicate with you to ensure that optimal pressure and technique is achieved for your individual experience.
